Workout timer — HIIT, Tabata, interval training
Time HIIT rounds, Tabata sets, or circuit intervals with a count-up stopwatch and lap marker. Tap Start to begin, tap Lap (or press L) to mark each round transition, tap Pause when done. Total elapsed time runs in the headline display; per-round laps stack underneath. "Workout timer" / "HIIT timer" / "interval timer with rest" all land here. You're running a 4-round HIIT circuit at home: 30 seconds work, 15 seconds rest, repeat. Tap Start when round one begins. At the end of round one's work interval, tap Lap. The lap row shows your round-one total. Repeat the pattern for the rest of the circuit. The lap list at the end becomes the workout log — round 1: 0:30, round 2: 0:31, round 3: 0:30, round 4: 0:29. This counts UP. For interval timers that count DOWN with an audio beep at zero (the Tabata-app pattern), use a countdown timer instead — different tool. Plinkr's stopwatch fits the pattern where you want honest total-time tracking plus per-round laps, no install, no "upgrade for more rounds" wall, no music or guided-workout overlay. Just the timer.

Frequently asked questions
Does it beep at the end of each interval like a Tabata app?
No. The stopwatch is silent and counts up — there's no audio cue at fixed intervals. For an audio beep at the end of each work-and-rest pair, use a countdown timer (Tabata-style apps). Plinkr's stopwatch fits the pattern where you tap Lap manually at each transition and review the lap list afterward.
Can I run it in fullscreen so it's readable across the room?
Yes. The stopwatch has a fullscreen mode that fills the screen with the elapsed-time display and lap list. Useful when the phone or laptop is across the gym from where you're working out. The keyboard shortcut for fullscreen works on a laptop with a keyboard; on a phone, tap the maximize button in the corner.
Will it stay accurate if I switch tabs between sets to look at music?
Yes. The timing is anchored to the system clock, not the tab's JavaScript timer queue, so a backgrounded tab stays accurate. Switch to your music app, switch back, the elapsed time matches reality. The lap markers from before-the-switch are still in the list when you return.
Can I keep my lap history across sessions, or does it reset on close?
Each session is independent — close the tab and the lap list resets. The lap list is meant to be reviewed in-session and either screenshotted or noted manually. For persistent workout logs, use a fitness app that does cross-session storage. Plinkr handles the timing primitive; long-term tracking is a different tool.
